When you move countries, you often lose your bearings all at once: language, habits, paperwork, social circles, and the small things that make daily life legible.
What helps most are communities at the intersection of origin and destination: people who understand where you come from and where you are trying to land.
Pionra exists to give those communities a dedicated place, better organized than scattered Reddit threads, Facebook groups, or WhatsApp chats, with reusable answers and a clearer standard.
We want to build it for the long term: serious moderation, privacy by design, GDPR alignment from day one, and no rage-bait algorithm that rewards noise.
Why we're starting with France
We started with France because we live here, we know the terrain, and foreigners arrive every year without a real playbook.
Moving to France alone can feel like navigating in the dark: paperwork, housing, language, unwritten rules, and a local network all have to be rebuilt at once.
Pionra brings together people from more than 40 countries who already live in France, with grounded advice, good surprises, and mistakes they wish they had avoided.
People share what they know: practical guides, useful reviews, lived experience, and mutual help between people from the same country, the same city, or simply facing the same obstacles.
The platform is free, can be used under a pseudonym if you want, is moderated to keep the space healthy, and was designed with GDPR compliance from the start.
Where we're going
The vision is broader than France, but the rollout will happen country by country so the product stays useful and trustworthy.
6 to 12 months
Open new destination countries: Canada, Belgium, and Switzerland first, then more French-speaking and English-speaking markets.
1 to 2 years
Build mother-tongue communities at global scale, with destination-specific guidance for each country.
