Invited by Frac Bretagne, artist Francesc Ruiz presents an immersive installation that transforms the exhibition space into a place dedicated to publishing.
Francesc Ruiz's artistic work revolves around comics, which he approaches as a visual, narrative, and critical medium. A form that, beneath its playful appearance, holds subversive potential and acts as a means of unofficial communication. Considering the context as inseparable from his creative process, Francesc Ruiz has explored the city of Rennes, both its center and its outskirts, to create a poetic score of the metropolis and the region. His work, populated with panels, streets, architectures, facilities, as well as inhabitants, both human and animal, follows the complex dynamics of the city's vibrancy and its territory. Invited by Frac Bretagne, the artist presents an immersive installation that transforms the exhibition space into a place dedicated to publishing: fanzines displayed on stands and large truck posters reproduced at a 1:1 scale, all mediums through which he unfolds a particular narrative about the city that welcomed him.
